In fact, Cortecito & Corales location makes it an excellent option for a second home or relocation. Close to the shops, bars and amenities, and the lovely beaches the area is known for. For the prospective expat, this charming stretch of land has everything they are going to need. The proximity to Punta Cana Village and Palma Real is handy, although your own car will be handier still- the bus is slow and unreliable, and taxis are not exactly cheap. With a car you can discover all the delights of the Punta Cana and beyond, but the Cortecito area is small enough to be easily traversed on foot.
With no access restrictions, this beach area features small hotels and great seafood restaurants, such as the popular Captain Cook. There are many gift and craft shops nearby along with aquatic sports posts offering lessons in kiteboarding and windsurfing. Here, you can find private and secluded beaches that are limited to hotel guests, or public access beaches that are filled with recreational activities.
In the heart of the town is Plaza Turquesa, which forms its social and commercial hub with its many excellent cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. Breakfast enjoyed on the terrace at any one of the eateries here is a great way to start one’s day.
The beach boasts plenty of space, making it an excellent option for a lazy day in the sunshine, and one that all ages can enjoy. Throughout the summer months, Cortecito & Corales is one of the main party hubs found anywhere on the Punta Cana. Its reputation is immense, with guests literally jetting in from all over the globe to be part of the winter and summer vacation activities.
For anything more exciting or diverse, the neighboring communities are the place to head to- the Cocotal Golf & Country Club has a 27 hole championship golf course, and a beautiful Spanish style shopping center, home of Outback Café and Hard Rock Café, among others. The San Juan Shopping Center and Down Town Punta Cana areas are a 10 minute drive away, currently awaiting construction of new residential properties. Punta Cana Village is about 20 minutes’ ride away and offers an array of restaurants, SPA, Banks, private medical offices and other professional office buildings.
The Cortecito and Corales area comes alive at night. Shimmering candlelight illuminates the happy faces of the al fresco diners as the heat of another day cools to mild warmth. The cuisine served up here is your typical international fare- you won’t have to look far for an Asian dish, a curry, a pizza or a burger. Satisfyingly late in the day for kids, socially vibrant for the females and impressively affordable for the bill payer, all bases are covered.
Popular activities include catamaran trips, two-story party boats, high-speed boats, kite boats, and even evening trips that include dinner. Touring boats are also available with glass bottoms so you can get an up close view of marine life. The East Coast is one of the best spots in the world for deep sea fishing, diving, snorkeling, kiteboarding, windsurfing and surfing. It’s easy to get around to the different attractions and restaurants, with plenty of taxis nearby. Visitors can also book banana boat trips, kayaking, sailing trips or simply play beach volleyball.
El Cortecito and Los Corales feature small, independent, free-standing residential projects, with great rental income potential. Some beach front and some within walking distance to the beach.
